Abstract: The article focuses on the 1930 Protocol for Naval Armaments as an example of the Greek-Turkish rapprochement after the conclusion of the 1923 Treaty of Lausanne. According to Hatzivassiliou, the main factor which enabled the two countries to conclude the naval protocol was their commitment to the Balkan status quo, while the naval policy of Greece was also connected with its financial priorities.
