Abstract: In this article, the author investigates the effects on economic growth of military expenditure in the case of Greece over the post-war period. They argue that the combined effect of military expenditure on the output growth rate is negative for the Greek economy. Part of the econometric school of study of the post-1945 Greek-Turkish military expenditure and possible arms racing.
