Abstract: Part of Sample’s corpus on the quantitative study of    arms races and conflict onset. In this study the author reviews historical and current case studies to examine the socio-political, economic, and security-related consequences of arms buildups. She discusses their influence on international relations, military budgets, and security dynamics, including arms races. Sample also evaluates existing arms control strategies and provide policy recommendations. In essence, this research contributes valuable insights into the multifaceted implications of arms buildups and emphasizes the need for innovative approaches to address their potential destabilizing effects on the global stage.
